This became clear after their working meeting in the old capital, hosted by the regional governor of Veliko Tarnovo Lyudmila Ilieva. Experts from the non-governmental sector in the field of tourism also took part in the discussion.

They, together with the district governors identified specific measures for the development of tourism. The aim is to attract both Bulgarian and Romanian visitors and to create common routes in the region, which will include cultural, pilgrimage, rural, culinary and other types of tourism. The development of a Facebook page is also planned, where the most interesting cultural events and tourist sites in the six areas will be promoted.

"We need to be closer to the people and present the tourist products in a more attractive way, so that we can really attract them to a specific event or site. It is important to make them empathize, to experience emotion when they go to a festival or visit a place, "said the regional governor of Veliko Tarnovo Lyudmila Ilieva. According to her, more work will be done to attract tourists from our northern neighbor. For this purpose, vloggers will be attracted and materials will be published in Romania, which will increase the interest in our country, especially in the North Central region.

A general event calendar is being prepared, which will advertise the most attractive events and places. A study of the profile of tourists in the six districts is forthcoming, with a focus on Bulgarian and Romanian citizens.
