Romania is increasing its quota for jobs positions

15/08/2019

The Romanian government increases the quota for newly admitted foreign workers by 10,000 people, after the country's business has again requested more staff, according to the Ministry of Labor. The decision was made at the end of August.
"The quota supplement was accepted after the number of work permits issued increased by more than 165% in the first eight months of 2019 compared to the first half of last year," the ministry explained.
From 1 January to 23 August, a total of 19 173 applications for work by foreigners were registered in Romania, 16 540 permits were issued, 818 were rejected and 1884 are pending.
About 11,000 are foreign workers hired in Romania in the first half of 2019.
