The number of unemployed people who started work in September was 13,260, an increase of 31.2% compared to August 2023, the Employment Agency reported.

During the month of work with the support of the labor offices, 750 pensioners, studying and employed, were also found, the department notes.

The largest share of those who started work is in the processing industry sector - 16.9%, education - 14.2%, trade - 12.4%, hotel and restaurant industry - 8.5%, state administration - 4.9%, human healthcare and social activities - 4.7%, construction - 4.5%, etc. In European Union countries, 1,185 unemployed people started work with the help of labor offices.

According to the data, 302 unemployed people from the risk groups found employment through subsidized jobs - 71 under employment programs and measures and 231 - under schemes of the Human Resources Development Program 2020-2027. The Employment Agency reports that 120 unemployed and employed people are included in various trainings, and 218 people have completed the already started training, acquiring a new profession or key competence.

The level of registered unemployment in the country in September was 5.3%. It remains the same value as in August. The number of registered unemployed persons at the end of the month was a total of 149,878, and the increase compared to last month was by 528 persons, the Employment Agency also informed. 22,126 new unemployed persons were registered in the labor offices in September. They are 3213 more than the previous month and 188 less than those registered in September 2022. As a result of the work of the Roma and youth mediators, as well as the labor mediators in the labor offices, a total of 3472 inactive for the market were activated during the month of labor persons.

What are the most sought-after professions in business?
In September, the administrative statistics of the Employment Agency reported a drop in vacancies announced by employers. In the labor offices during the month, the representatives of the primary market declared 10,753 vacancies compared to 11,988 in August 2023.

In the real economy, there are the most vacancies in the sphere of processing industry (25.3%), education (25.1%), trade (13.0%), followed by state administration (7.1%), hotels and restaurants (6.2%) and administrative and auxiliary activities (4.9%).

The most sought-after professions by businesses in September are: teachers; sellers; machine operators of stationary machinery and equipment; workers in the mining and processing industries, construction and transport; staff caring for people; personnel employed in the field of personal services; waste collection and related workers; skilled workers in the production of food, clothing, wood products and related; cleaners and helpers; drivers of motor vehicles and mobile equipment, etc.
