Minister Lorer and employers discuss coordination of accommodation and finding work to help those coming from Ukraine

Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer met with representatives of employers' organizations. It outlined concrete steps to coordinate state and business efforts to help Ukrainian refugees, such as accommodation and employment.

It became clear at the meeting that a National Coordination Headquarters with the participation of employers will be established, which will support Ukrainian citizens seeking asylum and work in our country.

"We need to channel the process so that it is easier to include Bessarabian Bulgarians and Ukrainians in the labor market in our country and provide them with a decent life. They will be provided with opportunities to alleviate living and working conditions in Bulgaria," Lorer said.

The business side expressed readiness to hire Ukrainian citizens seeking protection in our country. Opportunities for retraining are also extremely important, employers say.

The representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Employers' Organizations announced that it is possible to hire up to 200,000 specialists in all spheres of the economy. Of these, 20 thousand would

hired not only the textile industry, but also in the processing industry, agriculture, tourism and others. There is a need for mechanical engineers, drivers, builders and more. As soon as possible, information will be collected from the business about the opportunities in which sectors are most in demand. Bessarabian Bulgarians and Ukrainian citizens are welcome in our country, it was emphasized by all at the meeting.

Representatives of the IT industry pointed out that they can hire up to 30,000 specialists in the high-tech sectors. They pointed out that many of the Bulgarian companies have offices in Ukraine and are ready to provide work in our country to specialists from there.

It also became clear at the meeting that a single information portal will be launched, where information about the available jobs in Bulgaria for Ukrainian citizens will be uploaded. It will contain information on what professional qualifications and education are required.
