The seminar entitled "Local values ​​and development of cultural tourism in the Vidin region" is organized jointly with representatives of the National Tourism Cluster "Bulgarian Guide" and the New Bulgarian University, Department of Architecture.

Deputy Mayor Borislava Borisova opened a seminar for the development of cultural tourism, the press center of Vidin Municipality announced.

  The event is part of the international project DANUrB +: "Urban brand Danube +: Building regional and local sustainability through valorization of cultural heritage along the Danube."

The seminar entitled "Local values ​​and development of cultural tourism in the Vidin region" is organized jointly with representatives of the National Tourism Cluster "Bulgarian Guide" and the New Bulgarian University, Department of Architecture. It was held in the conference hall of the Epigraphic Center in Vidin.

"As an associated partner in the project, the Municipality welcomes the intentions within its framework to support the communities along the Danube, to develop cooperation between cities and regions located along the river, to promote local tourist attractions and routes, to organize cultural events" - said in her greeting at the opening Borislava Borisova.

She noted that the Municipality of Vidin has established very good contacts with neighboring countries and cities connected by the Danube and more remote, adding: "I can give a good example in this regard - the International Folklore Festival" Blue Danube ”in Vidin, which brings together hundreds of participants from a number of countries. So the project is a great opportunity to build on such events, to create new communities that share identical goals. " The Deputy Mayor expressed his hope that the implementation of the project will contribute to the supply of better quality tourist products, to focus on cultural values ​​and local traditions. Borissova wished fruitful work at the seminar and success in all upcoming activities.

The program of the event includes topics related to smart tourism solutions along the Danube; with criteria for evaluation and selection of sites for preparation of DANUrB + Action Plan; with the development of cultural and creative tourism in the Vidin region; with the preservation of cultural values ​​- a key to reviving shrinking cities, as well as a workshop for creating joint projects in the field of cultural and historical heritage.

The DANUrB + project: "Danube City Brand: Building Regional and Local Sustainability through Valorisation of Cultural Heritage on the Danube" is funded by the Danube Transnational Cooperation Program 2014-2020 and is co-financed by European Union funds and from the National Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria.
